
David
Butler was born at Enid, Oklahoma on December 18, 1945. He received a
Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oklahoma in 1967, and his Juris
Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma in 1976. He is admitted to
practice before the Supreme Court of Oklahoma, the United States
District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma, the United States
Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the
United States. He is a member of the Garfield County and Oklahoma Bar
Associations.
David has served as a member of the Board of
Governors of the Oklahoma Bar Association, on the Board of Editors of
the Oklahoma Bar Association Journal, as Chair of the Real Property Law
Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association, as Editor of the Title
Examination Standards Handbook, and as a member of the Oklahoma Supreme
Court Advisory Committee on Appellate Rules Revisions. He is a frequent
instructor in Continuing Legal Education courses for attorneys.
David
served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam War. Locally,
David has served as a member of the Board and President of the
Community Development Support Association, on the Enid Metropolitan
Area Human Service Commission, as Chair of the Youth Opportunity Task
Force, on the Enid Historic Preservation Commission, and the Garfield
County Excise Board.
David’s practice includes real property
law, civil litigation and appeals, estate planning, probate, wills and
trusts, agriculture law, commercial lending, and contracts.
